Biography

"My artistic training stressed creative expression within a limited range of landscapes and traditional subjects. My creative challenge now is to explore a range of mixed media applied to present and futuristic themes.

I look at and sense my surroundings and the world at large, beyond the limits of time and space. Exploring these dimensions and discovering new techniques are my continuing goals as an artist. I am by style, an international contemporary expressionist.

I strive for my work to combine the tools and sensitivity of my Eastern heritage with the expanded vision of my Western experiences.

My paintings deal with subjects which are transformed through the lens of my experiences and feelings, the resulting images stir emotion and some controversy.

Prior to painting, I may struggle with a concept for some time, turning over my thoughts and feelings until I arrive at a fresh approach that satisfies me. Despite this often taxing preliminary effort, I find the new concept seems to flow almost effortlessly to the canvas."
