Carol Summers

Artist’s statement:

"I think an artist is a kind of inventor searching for a way to body forth his dreams or fantasies, his visions or caprices. The notion that there is a right way to make a print strikes me as exactly backwards, since any method tends to dictate a specific result."

"One of the charms of the woodcut for me is its very simplicity - it is essentially blotting ink from one surface into another, and so admits of endless variation."
